A traditional Bon festival dance passed down in this little Kyoto tucked away in the mountains
Tsuwano is a town brimming with charm. Its Bon festival dance features distinct white attire and black hoods, and has been passed down through generations since the Muromachi period. The Tonomachi-dori Bon festival dance on August 20 has a particularly rich history, and is designated an Intangible Cultural Asset by the prefecture.
